There are many legends about when and where coffee beans were able to be used as a stimulant and how we came to drink it. The most believable story dates back to the 7th Century AD when a young goat herder noticed his flock would euphorically jump around after eating a certain type of berry.
Soon after, people were drying and "cooking" the berries and brewing them. Although the taste was very bitter, they did notice that they were able to stay awake longer. Coffee was here to stay.
Over the years we have developed many ways to brew a cup of coffee and well people remember all types of contraptions that were on our stoves. However, there is an easy way to get a coffee these days -- Automatic Coffee Machines.
It was only in the mid 1980's that automatic coffee makers started to appear, and since then they have become a technologically advanced kitchen appliance. We now see fully automated electronically controlled coffee makers that are enormously received by home consumers and commercial operators.
The difficulty in having an automated expresso coffee machine was that they were very difficult to clean and also difficult to maintain. Now it is possible to buy a machine that automatically will clean itself. All the consumer needs to do is put in tablets or chemicals, and press appropriate buttons!!
